PROFILE:
Eric Bier
Eric Bier is interested in technologies that help knowledge workers use information and collaborate with each other. He is currently leading research projects in the areas of enterprise collaboration and content management, intelligence analysis, medical sensemaking, and historical collections.
Eric is also known for his work on user interface software such as: Toolglass and Magic Lenses; techniques for sharing computers among multiple users (MMM); and entity-based notebooks (Entity Workspace).
Eric holds 20 patents in areas ranging from computer graphics and graphical devices to novel user interfaces. With two daughters he enjoys working with children, and often finds himself as a teacher, drama coach, choir leader, mentor, story teller, or jungle gym.
