PROFILE:

Ying Zhang

Ying Zhang's current research includes robotic sensor networks, mobile entity localization and tracking, and analysis of large networks. A key technical contributor to government-funded projects on distributed robotics and sensor networks, she is currently a principal investigator for DARPA's Physical Intelligence project, developing methods for analyzing large, evolving, complex networks. She was also a principal investigator for DARPA LANdroids: mobile robotic relay networks (2008-2010).

Before joining PARC, Ying worked at Xerox's Wilson Center for Research and Technology as a technical specialist and project manager. She worked on modeling and controlling the xerographic process and DataGlyph embedded glyphs toolkit.

Ying is the information director of the ACM Transaction on Sensor Networks, and has served as associate editor for journals, on technical program committees, and in NSF review panels on sensor networks. Ying received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of British Columbia. She has published over 50 papers on sensor networks, modular robotics, and hybrid systems.
