Peter Jarvis focuses on applying state-of-the-art software development principles to produce high-quality software across a range of research projects for PARC's intelligent automation research and work.
Before joining PARC, Peter was a computer scientist at NASA Ames Reserach Center and at SRI International. He developed a range of intelligent software -- which leveraged automated planning and scheduling technologies -- for spacecraft, aircraft, and military applications. Most recently, Peter developed the plotting capability for the next-generation software used by NASA's International Space Station and Space Shuttle controllers at Johnson Space Center in Houston.
Dr. Jarvis earned his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Brighton and BSc(Hons) from the University of Greenwich. He has over 20 refereed publications and has arranged workshops at IJCAI, AAAI, and local ICAPS.
Peter's hobbies include scuba-diving, boxing, hiking, and mountain biking.
