Open innovation in practice: strategies
9 September 2010
George E. Pake Auditorium, PARC
Throughout PARC's speaker series on OPEN, we've seen that "open" is both a concept and a practice that cuts across industries and business problems. Open innovation, in particular, has gone from buzzword to business necessity. In this series-closing talk, Jennifer will share insights on "open" and "innovation," including strategies for identifying, conceptualizing, and implementing new business opportunities. She will also share insights on where open innovation in practice is really headed... because if everyone does it, how do organizations differentiate themselves, their products, and their services??
Jennifer Ernst has developed partnerships with companies around the globe, helping conceptualize and implement new business opportunities. She expanded PARC's impact into multiple new industries and secured licensing and co-development relationships with companies in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Prior to helping found its client services team, Jennifer led external and internal communications through PARC's transition from corporate lab to research company. With 20 years cross-functional experience in innovation (including experience in marketing, sales, and business development based on advanced technology research), Jennifer has a deep understanding of the practices that foster creativity and make it possible to move ideas from concept to market. She speaks regularly about innovation to C-level executives of Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies, international government leaders, industry analysts, and business schools.
Jennifer holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BA in Radio/Television from San Francisco State University. She is a former member of The Conference Board's Council on Innovation and a current member of Tech Connect Advisory Board.
