The history of innovation and inventive inspiration is filled with annecdotes about new insights and ideas first revealing themselves, in symbolic form, in dreams remembered from sleep. Popular imagination has tended to focus on the numerous stories of artistic inspiration stemming from dreams, yet an immense number of creative break-throughs in hard science and technology have also been the result of remembered dreams. In the words of the old European folk tale, the dream is "the Magic Mirror that Never Lies," and anyone can learn to tap this archetypal creative impulse more easily and directly with a minimum of effort and focused attention.
Dr. Jeremy Taylor, a Unitarian Universalist minister, is a well-known innovator of group process in dream work, who blends the values of spirituality with an active social conscience and a Jungian perspective. He co-founded and is a past president of the international Association for the Study of Dreams. For over thirty years Jeremy has taught in the fields of psychology, mythology, and religion at various seminaries of the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, as well as many Bay Area colleges, and universities . He leads seminars and workshops in the US, Canada, Mexico, South American, Asia, and Europe. Jeremy appears regularly on local, regional, and national radio and TV, and he pioneered on line dream work as host of AOL's innovative dream work show. He was a featured guest on The Power of Dreams series on the Discovery Channel, The Secret World of Dreams prime-time special on NBC, and Thinking Allowed on PBS. Jeremy is the author of 3 books on the inter-relationship of dreams, the unconscious, mythology and spirituality.
