The road towards large-area electronics without vacuum tools
The fabrication of conventional electronic circuits relies on vacuum deposition and etching steps. However, for large-area and low-cost electronics other processes may be advantageous. We have explored the fabrication of electronic pixel circuits with a low-temperature all-additive process using jet-printing technology. These low-cost pixel backplanes are expected to find application in active-matrix addressed paper-like electronic displays.
