The State of the Art in Privacy Technologies


This talk describes the current state of the art in data privacy technologies. It will assess the strengths and weaknesses of privacy techniques such as k-anonymity and its variants, differential privacy and randomized response, and encrypted-domain data processing. It will discuss challenges in privacy-preserving analytics and suggest directions in which cryptographic and statistical privacy mechanisms can be combined to gain privacy at scale.
