Alex Warning

Profile

Biography

Alex Warning is a modeling and simulation engineer with research interests in applying computational methods to solve engineering problems specifically focused on biological and chemical process industries. His primary expertise is in applying multiphysics modeling and simulation to troubleshoot and optimize biological and chemical process unit operations. Alex has over 6 years’ experience working in the chemical process industry at Kellogg’s, DuPont, and PepsiCo. At PepsiCo, he was the primary physics-based modeling and simulation engineer assisting in troubleshooting and optimizing processing lines with computational fluid dynamics simulations and reduced ordered models. He has worked on a wide variety of multiphysics problems from microwave heating to heat transfer and multiphase flow. Before PARC, Alex worked at a defense contractor, Applied Research Associates, developing an open-source software to perform real-time photogrammetry from a UAV for the US Army. Alex has earned a Ph.D. in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and was a lecturer there in multiphysics modeling and simulation as applied to biomedical engineering applications. He also holds B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics from Michigan State University.
