Erica Ronchetto is a hands-on researcher in the Hardware Systems Laboratory. Her expertise is in characterizing, manufacturing, and developing commercial glass products, and her focus is on fabrication, strengthening, and bonding of complex glass structures. Before joining PARC, Erica worked on developing novel, functionally colorized glasses for the container industry. She has also worked with fabricating and characterizing a variety of ceramics and glass ceramics. During her Ph.D. research, she studied changes in fatigue susceptibility due to degradation of container glass surfaces and the effect of water on relaxation of the glass structure. Erica is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at Missouri University of Science Technology where she received her B.Sc. in Ceramic Engineering.
