Erva Ulu is a researcher focusing on computational design, digital fabrication, computer graphics and machine learning. He develops computational tools to enhance the design process for new fabrication technologies. His current research includes structural and geometric analysis, shape optimization, and geometric modeling.
Prior to joining PARC, Erva worked on design optimization methods for additive manufacturing in the Visual Design & Engineering Lab and Computer Graphics Lab at Carnegie Mellon University. He also worked as a research engineer in Unmanned Systems Department at Aselsan where he developed control algorithms for robotic defense systems.
Dr. Ulu received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds a M.Sc. degree from Bilkent University and B.Sc. degree from Middle East Technical University in the same field.
