Currently, Frank Torres is leading and contributing to PARC interdisciplinary teams creating novel technology options for Xerox Transportation Services (http://services.xerox.com/transportation-solutions/enus.html).  Recent R&D projects include passenger fare verification for public transit, parking services and enforcement, tolling ethnography and analytics,and image analytics for safety enforcement  at intersections (lower speeds when children are present and red light enforcement).   Dr. Torres also continues to consult on PARC biotechnology, clean water, and clean energy projects. Dr. Torres has a passion for mathematical and computational analysis and simulation, the foundation of his research and technical interests.  He has over 23 years of experience in corporate research and development, working on a variety of projects ranging from chemical and biochemical engineering to more recent work in data analytics and novel services for transportation applications.   Responsibilities have included being a principal investigator on multiple projects for both government and commercial clients, being a functional manager, being an interim engineering manager for Gyricon Inc. (a company spun out of PARC), and contributing as a subject matter expert to many projects large and small. Dr. Torres earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. from University of California, Davis.  He has multiple publications spanning a variety of subjects and 60 US patents issued or pending, along with many companion foreign patents.
