Kyle Dent is the Research Director for AI/Workplace Assistants and serves as co-chair of the AI Ethics Committee. AI at PARC encompasses a range of disciplines including computer vision, natural language processing, conversational agents, planning in dynamic environments and explainable AI. Previously Kyle was an Area Manager and led the research and development of several cross-discipline projects for a range of applications including sentiment and topic detection in social media and task-based, collaborative conversational agents. He also co-founded PARC’s AI Ethics Committee, which helps PARC researchers understand and mitigate ethical concerns in their work. His areas of interest are technology and society, complex social systems, and AI ethics. Kyle received his Master’s degree in Computer Science at Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. He has published both academic papers and popular articles in various venues.
