Roni Stern’s research interests are in a wide range of Artificial Intelligence research. Mostly, he has been working on heuristic search, automated planning for single and multiple agents, automated diagnosis and troubleshooting, and AI for software engineering. Prior to joining PARC, Roni was a faculty member at the Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering in Ben Gurion University and a software engineer and project manager in the IDF. Roni serves as a Senior Program Committee in top AI conferences such as IJCAI, AAMAS, and ECAI, and a reviewer for top AI journals such as AIJ, JAIR, and JAAMAS. In the past, Roni served as the president and council member of the Symposium on Combinatorial Search and program chair in several workshops. Dr. Stern earned his Ph.D. at Ben Gurion University of the Negev working on heuristic search and automated diagnosis, and his M.Sc. in Computer Science from Bar Ilan University. He also was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University. He has 5 patents (approved or provisional) and has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
