Vaidyanathan Thiagarajan

Job: scientist
Vaidyanathan Thiagarajan is a Research Scientist in the System Sciences Lab. He currently works on developing computational tools for physics simulation of metal 3D printing in addition to contributing to the FIELDS project. Vaidyanathan has industrial experience developing software for leading CAD/CAE companies in India and the United States. Prior to joining PARC, he worked in the Spatial Automation Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison developing a novel numerical integration framework called “Shape Aware Quadratures” for volumetric/surface integration over arbitrary domains using non-conforming meshes. His research interests span the intersection of CAD, CAE and numerical computing. Dr. Thiagarajan earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and M.E. in Structural Engineering and B.E. in Civil Engineering from PSG College of Technology, India.
