One of the great accomplishments of printing technology has been the ability to precisely place millions of droplets of material exactly where they need to be in order to create images or text. Today, the manipulation of materials can go far beyond the creation of printed images and objects.
At PARC, we’ve taken our expertise in printing and created new systems for manufacturing, material processing and consumer devices to create novel platform technologies that are scalable, manufacturable and able to manipulate materials across a wide range of length scales. Our scientists currently work in creating structured battery electrodes, electrostatic patterning of films, and the manipulation of non-Newtonian and viscous materials. As such, our work in Material Deposition Systems is at the forefront of reimagining what printing is and can do today and in the future.
