Disruptive technology for industrial separations
This talk describes an innovative highly scalable hydrodynamic separation methodology that serves as a platform technology for many industrial separations. Features include: a high throughput, purely fluidic, continuous flow, membrane-less, size selective method for separation of neutrally buoyant suspensions; and accelerated agglomeration kinetics from enhanced mixing and custom fluidic shear resulting in reduced up to 50% reduction in dosage of aggregation agents. Together, the combined effects allow for direct extraction of micron sized suspensions in fluidic structures, fully eliminating sedimentation. This technology is directly relevant to industrial applications to quickly and effectively separate suspensions.
