Intellectual Property in the Knowledge Economy
How has the role of intellectual property changed from the industrial to the knowledge economy? Is the effect of IP dependent on the IP system per se or on how it is practiced? Will IP determine the haves and have-nots in the knowledge economy? Can we count on market forces to balance the role of IP in wealth and welfare creation effectively? This Dialogue will address the aforementioned questions and focus on the extent to which intellectual property impedes global innovation and economic development.
