Learning Fast and Slow: Levels of Learning in General Autonomous Intelligent Agents.

We identify two distinct levels of learning on general autonomous intelligent agents. Level 1 are architectural learning mechanisms that are innate, automatic, and outside of the agents control. Level 2 are deliberate learning strategies that are controlled by the agents knowledge. We describe these levels and provide an example of their use in a task-learning agent. We also expand to other levels and discuss the implication of this view of learning in autonomous agents.
