Voices of Innovation

Different companies and research centers have different cultures of innovation. The culture is carried through the stories that organizations tell about themselves, revealing important information about the "niche" in which they operate and what it takes to be successful in that niche. Mark Stefik will share stories from several research centers and consider what these stories tell. In particular, he will focus on stories about radical innovation in information technology and explore why research cultures that promote radical innovation are crucial for the future and why the conditions for supporting them are difficult to arrange.
