Why the new solar world is flat

China has recently become the leading producer of photovoltaics.  And the U.S. could soon become the leading market for photovoltaics.  This has caused the occasional flare-up of U.S. versus China sentiment and arguments for protectionist measures.   The reality is far more nuanced than that simplistic jingoism.

Andrew Beebe, the Vice President of Global Product Strategy for solar giant SunTech, will sit down with Greentech Media's Eric Wesoff to discuss:

  • The myth of China versus U.S. in a global economy.
  • The future path of photovoltaic technology and business models at SunTech and the solar market as a whole.
  • SunTech's global manufacturing strategy and locating manufacturing in the U.S.
  • Growth of solar jobs and solar markets in the U.S.
  • Growth of the Chinese domestic solar market.
  • Growth of contract manufacturing in the solar industry.
  • The maturing of the global solar ecosystem.

Questions from the audience will be welcome.
