Women of Vision Awards — PARC is a sponsor
The Anita Borg Institute's Women of Vision Awards, hosted by the Anita Borg Institute Board of Trustees, honors women making significant contributions to technology. One winner is selected in each category: Innovation, Leadership, and Social Impact. We also honor the Anita Borg Top Company for Technical Women award winner.
about the Anita Borg Institute
Through its work, the The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) seeks to increase the impact of women on all aspects of technology, and increase the positive impact of technology on the world’s women. Since 1997, ABI has developed tools and programs designed to help industry, academia, and government recruit, retain, and develop women technology leaders. By providing inclusive platforms designed to ensure women’s voices, ideas, and spirits will result in higher levels of technical innovation, ABI delivers programs that are changing the world for women and for technology.
Founded in 1997 by renowned computer scientist and then PARC researcher Anita Borg, Ph.D. (1949-2003), the ABI was initially known as the Institute for Women in Technology (IWT). The IWT, which was housed at PARC as an independent nonprofit organization, was renamed in 2003 in order to honor Dr. Borg.
