A Technical and Commercialization Roadmap for Information Centric Networking

by Glenn Edens, General Manager, Networking and Distributed Systems, PARC, a Xerox company

Information Centric Networking, ICN, is poised to create significant new business opportunities in applications such as Internet of Things, Content Distribution Networks, and Cloud, as well as to offer a path to co-evolve with existing network protocols to handle the explosive growth of traffic on the Internet.

PARC, together with a growing community of developers and partners, has made Content-Centric Networking, CCN, a leading contender for early implementation of ICN.  PARC has also implemented CCN on several hardware platforms, including a family of proprietary high performance routers.

Glenn will give an overview of CCN’s current state including examples of projects being undertaken by PARC and members of the community. He will outline in detail the technical roadmap that PARC is proposing and the business approach PARC is taking to move with a limited group of collaborators from research prototype to a production prototype code base, including a subscription model for licensing its intellectual property covering both CCN and network security.

This is an English only seminar.
