FBI’s Silicon Valley Computer Forensic Laboratory
Details
PARC Forum
A RCFL is a single service forensic laboratory devoted entirely to examination of computer evidence in support of federal, state and local criminal investigations. The type of investigations the lab handles include terrorism, child pornography, crimes of violence, theft or destruction of intellectual property, Internet crimes and fraud, to name a few. In April 2002, San Francisco was selected as one of three new RCFL sites. Since then a dedicated coalition of regional law enforcement agencies has moved closer to establishing this innovative resource for the region.
