SolFocus is a growth stage solar technology company with a mission to provide solar energy at cost parity with energy generated using fossil fuels. . Founded in 2005, SolFocus is currently deploying high-efficiency Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) systems for large scale solar installations. Combining a number of Silicon Valley’s finest traditions, SolFocus was started in a garage, enriched by collaboration with PARC, and now stands at the leading edge of a critical new global industry. This talk will discuss the technology, strategy, and explosive growth of SolFocus and the CPV industry.

Ty Jagerson is Vice President Corporate Development for SolFocus. Ty manages corporate finance, M&A, key strategic partnerships, and entry into new product areas and markets. Prior to SolFocus, Ty was Principal of Business Development for Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) where he led commercialization activities and strategic initiatives, including co-founding PARC's Cleantech Initiative and the partnership leading to the incorporation of SolFocus. Prior to PARC, Ty was President of PCG, a technology consulting firm based in Ukraine. Mr. Jagerson has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Wesleyan University. He speaks fluent Russian and has worked professionally in over 20 countries.
