Saroj Sahu focuses on novel electrochemical chemistry and energy technologies, and is building devices for efficient energy storage, energy generation, and water management.
Prior to joining PARC, Saroj was a creative advisor at Science Cadets in Mountain House, CA, where he built innovative charge-discharge controllers, battery management systems for Li+ batteries, and high-efficiency power electronics for battery and wind/solar applications. Saroj was also the founder and CTO of Deeya Energy, a VC-backed energy storage flow battery company in Silicon Valley, producing the world's first commercial flow batteries. Earlier in his career, at Jasmine Networks and Santec Corp, he built fiber optic communications hardware including electro-optical transponders, MEMS optical switches, and optical subsystems. At Raychem/Tyco he worked on creating novel materials and sensors. He is also an expert in radiation physics and built parts of particle accelerators and high energy physics detectors during his graduate and post-doctoral work.
Saroj received his BSc from Stewart Science College, Utkal University, India and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Experimental Physics from Saga University, Japan. He has nine US patents, over 50 research publications, and has edited one book.
