Content Networking: An Industry Viewpoint
series: Future of Networking
4 November 2010
George E. Pake Auditorium, PARC
The network and the services around it, and the industry that develops products to support them are experiencing a fast transformation. Moving from packets to communications, and from communications to information exchanges, this newer infrastructure is blurring the boundaries between computing, storage, and networking. In this new world, content is claiming a bigger role. In this talk, we'll explore how industry is perceiving some of these changes and how some of the answers are in the direction of solutions around content and content networking.

Graduated with a double MSEE degree from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Spain, and from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He joined Cisco in 1999 and has worked in the development of multiple network technologies in the Enterprise space, quickly specializing in the services around the network (Firewalls, Load Balancers, Intrusion Prevention, ...) and more specifically into the high-end security and datacenter spaces. After joining the Datacenter architecture team, he focused on a new breed of network equipment where services and networking would seamlessly integrate. In the RAD team for the past few years, he has been pushing ideas and projects in the area of network services, cloud, content networking, security, and mobility.
